5000 Years

I doubt that my watch could run for five thousand years without needing some work on occasion. And, I haven’t mentioned my human form, my ability to eat and drink water for so long a time. As if any of that matters after, say, ninety years. 5000 seems almost a waste of time as boring is what most of time feels to us if we have mastered all we know to master. After that it is redundancy isn’t it.

I hear an elf saying he fought against Mordor 5000 years ago so it sounds a bit like the restriction of time might be a good thing. If Hitler lived 5000 years what kind of shape would the world be in right now?

This is to say that, though we all would like to live a lot longer, we are not mentally tough enough to repeat the same stuff over and over and over ad infinitum. Infinity leaves a lot of time for contemplation doesn’t it. Our minds cannot absorb enough information to warrant an infinity of thought without going back over the same crap we go through now. Traffic cameras, politicians, tornadoes, rotten fruit, balding, hurting ourselves, farting like a race horse. You know, mundane to beat ourselves senseless just for a change. 5000 years and I can’t get to a hundred it would seem. You?
