Lost

Number one, I know that nothing can be done about the plight of so many human beings. The disease, the starvation, the murdering thugs of some governments, the wars, and the simple attrition that affects us all. Yet, we spend billions upon billions to get to space. A cheeseburger for a Somali in Africa is not considered. I will leave Minnesota out of this as that is another can of worms.

When I was overseas both in combat in Vietnam or on liberty in other Asian countries I saw both the impoverished and the wealthy. What I realized is that poverty exists right alongside wealth and nothing is ever done about poverty. Yet, kings of industry put away billions each week. I can’t say what is fair when the sum of the addition of beggars gets so high. Call these people what you will but nobody calls them to table in any country.

Do you ever wonder why God allows this? Assuming, that is, you believe in God. I do and I understand that the wheel is in spin until God stops the wheel. It isn’t that He doesn’t care but it is up to us to show our cards in a meaningful and helpful way. But, how to do so when so many starve or have no clean water to drink. Is this a puzzle for us to solve or a lesson for us to learn because here is certainly nothing we can do about it. At least, not all of it.

I spend time avoiding this type of subject here but once in a while I need to remind myself and those of you who come here that while we eat and sleep others starve. There is naught we can do about it. Never has been because this has been a truth since day one. Truth, you really cannot fight it as it rules through the thick and the thin and, to whom does truth belong?

Hey, I hear we’re going back to the moon!
