The “Mix”
I’ve always been fascinated about being brought into the mix. You don’t know whether or not the “mix” is a good thing or a bad thing, a material thing or a “think tank” thing or just a family get together in the Costco parking lot. I do know this about any type of “mix” pertaining to humans, it is messy, disorganized and shouting will certainly come to pass if the “mix” has to do with money or real estate.
When I was in Vietnam I was definitely in the mix but in a super orderly manner until the muzzle flashes began. Even then it was orderly in such a way as to keep heads down with movement only as absolutely necessary. A kind of, plan ahead, for the next thirty seconds or so. No dinner parties out there so we didn’t have to sweat that.
The “mix” is far to general a term but it has been around since Pontius Pilate and before old Pontius if memory serves. I don’t know who else might have been in the “mix” back then other than the Romans. They were the “mix” by the time Carthage invaded Italy. Or was it the people from New York that invaded Italy? Are there Costco’s in Italy yet? If you wouldn’t mind, run over there and see if there’s a Costco, would ya?
It begins to sound as though the “mix” is older than dirt but without a meaningful definition. Oh well, that’s why colleges were invented. To define the mix that they have got themselves into. I just keep turning corners don’t I?
